Predictive policing could have prevented the riots

Predictive policing refers to any policing strategy or tactic that develops and uses information and advanced analysis to inform forwardthinking crime prevention.

  • It’s a framework to organize policing as an information-intensive business in an information age
  • It is happening. It is a natural outgrowth of the technology revolution in the world as a whole. Information systems, communications, sensors, analysis, and technology are changing how police (and the criminal justice community) view themselves and their business
