Ask yourself this question: If an individual began shouting threats at crowds, how long would it take for police to be notified and respond?

Maybe 60 seconds? Now ask yourself how quickly your local police would respond to the same threats voiced over Twitter, Facebook, or the other social media channels? Is anybody looking for it?

The importance of monitoring and searching emerging social media communications channels has caught us all by surprise. Make no mistake, these communication channels must be tapped by law enforcement very effectively and quickly, or the gangs, criminals, and radical groups will have the edge.
